Beaches

In beautiful Folegandros there are several beaches scattered around the island, accessible and not. You will find beaches for all tastes, but also all weather. Definitely here you will enjoy the sea and the sun, taking dives in the beautiful and clean waters of the Aegean.

Vardia

An easy accessible beach, walking from the port of the island, with sand and fine pebbles. Doesn't have beach bar, but in a short distance you will find everything you need (water, coffee, food, etc.). There are few places with natural shade to enjoy the swim.

Chochlidia

The main beach located in the port of the island and consists of pebbles; good choice for families as it offers everything (taverns, cafes, mini markets) and in addition the access is very easy. The tamarisk trees located on the beach offer several places with shade.

Litinaki - Vitzentzou - Pountaki

When south winds blow these three beaches are ideal! Quite close to Karavostasi either on foot or by car. All three of them consist mainly of sand and minimal pebbles. Great options for relaxation and tranquility.

Livadi

A fairly large beach, sandy and of fine peddles, which is located about 1.5 km from the port of the island. Nearby is the campsite of the island where you can get whatever you need. In Livadi you will find several places with natural shade.

Katergo

The most beautiful beach of the island is located in the southeastern part of the island and accessible by foot (30 minutes walk) or by boat from the port (10 minutes). This is a "wild" beach without shady spots but very picturesque. It consists of fine pebbles and wonderful sand. You must have the essentials with you as the beach doesn't have beach bar or sunbeds and you will definitely stay several hours.

Fira

Fira is accessible via a path from Agali (15 minutes) and is a beach with pebbles and sand. Beautiful, secluded; perfect fit for those who prefer peace of mind. You will surely be completely satisfied.

Agkali

Agali is one of the most crowded beaches on the island, as it attracts both visitors and residents. It consists mainly of sand and is ideal for families. It's easily accessible, while from here you can take boats for Livadaki and Agios Nikolaos beaches. In Agali you will find several restaurants, cafes, hotels and mini markets.

Galifos

Another beautiful beach that is accessible only through a path from Agia Marina in Agali (10 minutes). It is relatively small in width, with sand and pebbles, while there are some places with natural shade. Yet, during summer you may find it difficult to find a shady place. This beach also gathers nudists.

Agios Nikolaos

Agios Nikolaos is located on the south side of the island that can be reached on foot (20 minutes) or by boat (5 minutes) from Agali. It has pristine and green waters, while it consists mainly of sand. It attracts a lot of people because of the shady places offered by tamarisk trees at the top of the beach, but also because of the restaurants that exist there.

Livadaki

One of the most beautiful beaches of the island is Livadaki, where access is either on foot (from Ano Meria / 45 minutes) or by boat from Agali (20 minutes). You can lie on the beach of fine pebbles or go on the flat rocks aside of the beach. A few tamarisk trees offer shade at the back of the coast. You will not find shops there, so take care of supplies before your arrival.

You will find several more beaches in the unique Folegandros, such as Ambeli, a small beach on the south side, but also several more on the "wild" north side of the island, such as Agios Georgios, Serfiotiko, Voreina and Lygaria, not crowded at all.
