Travelling brings happiness

Several studies support that those who travel are happier than those who do not travel at all. Psychologists argue that we experience the same happiness when we buy something we wish and when we travel. However the main difference is that the happiness and excitement from a purchase decreases over time, while the memories of a trip stay in our mind, creating us happy feelings no matter how much time passes by. It doesn't matter how much money you spend on a trip, whether it will be near or far, how long it will be, or even what the destination will be. What matters the most is the feeling, the experience and the memories we gain that will be carried in our minds forever. Having traveled a lot in Greece and abroad, I have found myself several times in uncomfortable, tiring, difficult and stressful situations. Recalling them after some time ignites a pleasant feeling, which confirms that it's not the destination that matters but the journey. We live in a society that has nurtured us to focus more on material goods, ending up to constantly chase for more and usually leading to a life of misery. Travel manages to stimulate our senses, making us feel more intense emotions, which helps to create memories that last longer. So, dare to look for happiness in a different path than the one that has been imposed on us...Travel to feel what this wonderful planet has to offer and maybe you will finally find what you are looking for in places you have not yet imagined...
